Netflix announces Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premiere date

Netflix has released new teasers and details for ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2’, scheduled to premiere on October 20, 2026. The upcoming ten-episode anime series is a standalone story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, meaning it will not feature characters from the first season like David or Lucy.

Produced by Studio TRIGGER and CD Projekt RED, the new season features a fresh production team. Kai Ikarashi makes his directorial debut, with Bartosz Sztybor returning as showrunner and producer. The narrative is described as a “raw chronicle of redemption and revenge” centered on new characters, including the veteran Edgerunner Weak Kingsley, netrunner D, and cinematographer Roman Carax.

Musical highlights include an opening theme by The Cure and tracks by Rico Nasty. The series aims to explore themes of cyberpsychosis and the loss of control resulting from excessive cybernetic enhancement. All ten episodes are expected to be released simultaneously on Netflix.
