Netflix celebrates 15 years in Mexico with new local productions

Netflix is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Mexico by highlighting its significant investment in local content. Since its first original production outside the United States, ‘Club de Cuervos’, in 2015, the platform has produced or co-produced more than 200 titles in the country between 2016 and 2025, collaborating with over 50 production houses.

To mark the milestone, Netflix announced 15 upcoming Mexican productions spanning various genres, including drama, action, and documentaries. Notable upcoming titles include ‘El enemigo del pueblo’, directed by Luis Estrada; ‘Ceniza en la boca’, directed by Diego Luna; and the series ‘Dogman’, set in the world of lucha libre. Other announced projects include ‘Contra el huracán’, ‘Contraataque’, ‘35 días’, ‘Un tipo de cuidado’, ‘La madre perfecta’, and the sixth season of ‘Rosario Tijeras’.

The platform’s operations have also expanded geographically within Mexico, with more than 100 cities and towns serving as filming locations, approximately 50% of which are situated outside of Mexico City.
