Netflix documentary explores life of comedian Norm Macdonald

The Netflix documentary “Norm: The Tale of Norm Macdonald,” directed by Judd Apatow, examines the life and career of the late comedian Norm Macdonald. The film utilizes extensive archival footage, including clips from his stand-up performances, appearances on talk shows such as Letterman and Larry King, and his tenure as a “Weekend Update” anchor on Saturday Night Live.

The documentary highlights Macdonald’s unique comedic style, characterized by a deadpan delivery and a tendency to use outrageous or off-color humor. It also explores his reputation for being an inscrutable figure who frequently fabricated or exaggerated details about his personal life, such as his education and upbringing, often to baffle audiences and interviewers alike.
