Netflix doubles advertising commitments following 2026 U.S. Upfront

Netflix has nearly doubled its advertising commitments following its 2026 U.S. Upfront negotiations. The streaming platform reported strong demand from third-party marketers, particularly for its expanding live sports portfolio and popular original series.

Key drivers of advertiser interest include marquee sporting events such as NFL games, WWE, MLB, and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, for which game sponsorships have already sold out. High-profile scripted and unscripted franchises, including ‘Bridgerton’, ‘Emily in Paris’, and ‘Love Is Blind’, also saw significant commitments.

To support this growth, Netflix has upgraded its advertising technology. The company expanded programmatic buying capabilities, allowing advertisers to transact through major demand-side platforms like Google Display & Video 360, Amazon, Yahoo, and The Trade Desk. Additionally, Netflix received Media Rating Council (MRC) accreditation for its processing and reporting of U.S. in-stream video impressions across connected TV, mobile apps, and desktop web.
