Netflix finds success with new miniseries adaptations

Netflix is seeing success with new miniseries offerings, including a new adaptation of John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” (La Valle dell'Eden) and the mystery series “The Final Problem” (Il problema finale).

“East of Eden,” a seven-episode series directed by Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, is described as a reinterpretation rather than a remake. Set in early 20th-century California, it follows the Trask family saga, focusing on themes of rivalry, love, and redemption. Florence Pugh stars as the complex character Cathy Ames.

“The Final Problem” is a four-episode Spanish-language mystery set in an island hotel following a murder. The series, which features a cast including José Coronado and María Valverde, has received a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It is noted for its narrative structure reminiscent of Agatha Christie mysteries.
