Netflix increases subscription prices in Germany
Netflix has implemented a price increase for its subscription tiers in Germany. As of September 3, new customers are subject to the higher rates across all available plans.
The price adjustments include the Standard plan with ads, which rose from 4.99 Euro to 6.99 Euro, and the Standard plan without ads, which increased from 13.99 Euro to 15.99 Euro. The Premium tier has also seen an increase, moving from 19.99 Euro to 21.99 Euro, marking the first time a Netflix tier in the country exceeds 20 Euro per month.
Additionally, costs for account sharing outside of a single household have risen. The fee for an extra member on the Standard ad-supported plan has increased from 3.99 Euro to 4.99 Euro, while the ad-free extra member option rose from 4.99 Euro to 5.99 Euro.
Existing customers will see these changes applied gradually and will be notified via email. For those subscribing through Telekom, the price hike for monthly cancelable options is scheduled to take effect on November 1.
