Netflix releases final season of 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' series

Netflix launched the second part of its adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s novel *One Hundred Years of Solitude* on 5 August 2026. Seven episodes were made available worldwide, continuing the saga of the Buendía family and the fictional town of Macondo as it confronts the arrival of the railroad, a banana company and the aftermath of civil wars.

The series, filmed entirely in Colombia, is structured as a two‑part project covering the entire novel in sixteen episodes. The concluding episode, a near‑two‑hour special, will be released on 26 August 2026 and will also receive limited theatrical screenings in Colombia before its streaming debut.

Producers have confirmed that no third season is planned; the two parts were designed to fully encapsulate the novel’s narrative, from the founding of Macondo to its ultimate decline.
