Netflix launches 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' Part 2 on Aug 5, 2026

Netflix confirmed that the second part of its adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s novel *One Hundred Years of Solitude* will debut on August 5, 2026. The first seven episodes of the eight‑episode season drop simultaneously, continuing the saga of the Buendía family in the fictional Colombian town of Macondo. A final episode, presented as a feature‑length special, is scheduled for August 26, 2026.

The series, filmed in Colombia with the author’s family’s support, has become one of Netflix’s biggest international hits since its initial release in December 2024. Episode 9, titled “The Armistice,” opens the new batch and is directed by Laura Mora, who also helmed several installments of the first part. The season explores the political fallout after Colonel Aureliano Buendía’s wars and introduces new characters such as Fernanda del Carpio, while the arrival of a foreign corporation threatens the fragile balance of Macondo.

Fans can watch the entire release on Netflix at the usual 12 a.m. Pacific (3 a.m. Eastern) launch time.
