Netflix releases K-drama ‘Take Charge of My Heart’

Netflix has released the new Korean romantic comedy series ‘Take Charge of My Heart’, based on a web novel. The supernatural romance follows Na Bo-bae (Chae Soo-bin), an aspiring screenwriter who developed the ability to electrically shock others after being struck by lightning as a child.

Baek Ho-rang (Kim Young-kwang), a wealthy hotel executive and chaebol heir, suffers from a failing artificial heart. The plot centers on a contract arrangement between the two after it is discovered that Bo-bae can touch Ho-rang without causing him harm, effectively acting as a way to manage his medical condition.

Director Park Soo-won highlighted the leads' performances, noting Kim Young-kwang’s suitability for the romantic lead and Chae Soo-bin’s ability to portray her character’s unique electrical abilities in an endearing manner.
