Robert De Niro thriller ‘The Whisper Man’ tops Netflix charts

The Netflix psychological thriller ‘The Whisper Man’ (Susurran tu nombre) has become a major streaming phenomenon, reaching the number one spot in 69 countries. Directed by James Ashcroft and adapted from Alex North’s bestselling novel, the film features a prominent cast including Robert De Niro, Adam Scott, Michael Keaton, and Michelle Monaghan.

The plot follows Tom Kennedy (Adam Scott), a widowed novelist who moves to a small town with his son, only to face a new wave of kidnappings. Desperate to find his son, Tom seeks help from his estranged father, Pete Willis (Robert De Niro), a retired detective who previously tracked the original ‘Whisper Man’ killer (Michael Keaton).

While critical reception has been mixed, the film has achieved significant viewership numbers, peaking at over 33 million views. The production has been noted for its 1990s-style thriller atmosphere, focusing on suspense and psychological tension rather than jump scares.
