Netflix has released a trailer for Possible Love, the South Korean film directed by Lee Chang-dong and selected as the country’s official entry for the Academy Awards. The drama, which won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, explores themes of social inequality and class disparity through the lives of two married couples from opposing socioeconomic backgrounds.
The plot follows Mi-ok, a factory worker, and her husband Ho-seok, a laid-off worker, as they encounter Ye-ji, a wealthy documentary filmmaker, and her husband Sang-woo, a man of significant inheritance. As Ye-ji begins documenting the lives of displaced workers, a complex and unsettling attraction develops between Mi-ok and Sang-woo.
The film features a prominent cast including Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Cho Yeo-jeong, and Zo In-sung. Possible Love is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in the United States on October 23, followed by its streaming debut on Netflix on November 6.
