Netflix renews mystery thriller ‘The Watcher’ for second season

Netflix has officially renewed the mystery thriller series ‘The Watcher’ for a second season. Production for the new installment is set to begin this autumn in New York.

Following its October 2022 premiere, the series became a global streaming phenomenon, accumulating over 273 million viewing hours in its first two weeks and topping charts in more than 65 countries. Although the first season was initially intended as a standalone story, the massive viewership led to the renewal.

Returning cast members include Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale as Nora and Dean Brannock, alongside Jennifer Coolidge, Margo Martindale, and Isabel Gravit. While specific plot details for the second season remain under wraps, the new episodes will continue the story following the open-ended finale of the first season.
