Netflix ‘The Watcher’ season 2 production

Overview

Netflix has officially renewed the mystery thriller series ‘The Watcher’ for a second season. While the first season was initially intended as a standalone story, the series became a global streaming phenomenon, accumulating over 273 million viewing hours in its first two weeks and topping charts in more than 65 countries.

Production for the second season is scheduled to begin this fall in New York. The new episodes will continue the storyline of the Brannock family following the open-ended finale of the first season, rather than following an anthology format.

Returning cast members include Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale as Nora and Dean Brannock, Margo Martindale, Isabel Gravitt, and Jennifer Coolidge, who will reprise her role as real estate agent Karen Calhoun. The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan and is based on an article from The New York Magazine.
