Netflix reveals first images of Brazilian jaguar documentary

Netflix has released the first images of ‘Marcha das Onças’, a new nature documentary directed by Lawrence Wahba. Produced in Brazil, it marks the streaming platform’s first nature documentary in Latin America.

The film follows a lineage of jaguars in the Pantanal region, specifically within the Encontro das Águas State Park. Narrated by actress Fernanda Torres from the perspective of a jaguar, the story centers on a matriarch named Patrícia and her grandchildren, Marcela and Rio, as they navigate a dangerous environment.

The production involved 26 expeditions over five years, with the crew spending 46 weeks on location working alongside researchers, park rangers, and local residents. The documentary is scheduled for its premiere at the 50th São Paulo International Film Festival on October 16 and will be released on Netflix later this year.
