Netflix Swedish thriller Blodsoffer becomes platform hit

The Swedish thriller Blodsoffer (Sacrificio de sangre) has become a major hit on Netflix, earning high engagement from subscribers. The five-episode miniseries, directed by Kristoffer Nyholm and written by George Kay, Aron Levander, and Emilie Robson, follows an investigation into a brutal murder in a small Swedish community.

The plot centers on a crime scene that suggests the recreation of an ancient Nordic ritual known as blót. While the series utilizes this historical imagery to build mystery and explore family secrets, the narrative remains grounded in reality rather than the supernatural.
