Netflix released the five-part Swedish mystery thriller ‘Blood Sacrifice’ (Blodsoffer/Blutopfer/Sacrificio de sangre) on August 20, 2026. While the plot utilizes imagery suggesting the recreation of an ancient Nordic ritual known as ‘blót’ to build mystery and explore family secrets, the narrative remains grounded in reality rather than the supernatural. The series was written by George Kay, Aron Levander, and Emilie Robson.
