Netflix thriller ‘The Last House’ reaches number one in Canada

The Netflix sci-fi thriller ‘The Last House’ has reached the number one spot on movie charts in Canada and is dominating audiences in the United States and globally. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura as a family trapped inside their suburban home by a sinister force, unable to exit through doors or windows.

Despite its popularity and high streaming numbers, the film has received low critical reception, with Rotten Tomatoes scores sitting at 23 per cent for critics and 28 per cent for audiences. The production featured a specialized set designed by Kevin Jenkins to evolve alongside the characters.
