Netflix to premiere ‘El problema final’ miniseries on September 25

Netflix will release the miniseries ‘El problema final’ on September 25. Based on the novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, the production is a Spanish murder mystery set in the spring of 1959.

The story takes place on an island near Mallorca, where thirteen people are isolated by a storm. The plot centers on the death of Elisa Mander in a hotel; while initially appearing to be a suicide, the situation evolves into a complex murder investigation. The protagonist, Basil, is a retired actor who once played Sherlock Holmes and becomes an amateur detective to solve the crime.

Directed by Félix Viscarret, the series stars José Coronado, María Valverde, Martiño Rivas, and Maribel Verdú. Filming took place over two months in Lloret de Mar, Madrid, and Toledo.
