Netflix to produce series on Daniel Sancho case
Netflix and Bambú Producciones are developing a scripted miniseries based on the Daniel Sancho case, which involves the murder of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta in Thailand. Martiño Rivas has been cast to portray Sancho.
The project has sparked controversy as members of the Sancho family, including Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchal, have reportedly not been consulted or given approval for the production. Family sources expressed surprise at learning about the series through media reports.
In contrast, reports suggest that the family of Edwin Arrieta is aware of and participating in the project. Author Joaquín Campos, who wrote about the case, is also expected to be involved. Filming is planned for locations in both Spain and Thailand.
