Netflix to release ‘El problema final’ miniseries on September 25

Netflix is set to release the miniseries ‘El problema final’ on September 25. Based on the novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, the production is directed by Félix Viscarret and features a cast including José Coronado, Martiño Rivas, María Valverde, and Maribel Verdú.

The story is a period mystery set in the spring of 1959. It follows thirteen individuals trapped in a small hotel on an islet near Mallorca due to a storm. When an English tourist is found dead, the guests and staff become suspects. José Coronado plays Basil, a retired actor known for his former role as Sherlock Holmes, who must use his detective skills to solve the crime.

While inspired by the 2023 novel, the adaptation introduces several changes. The setting has been moved from the Greek Mediterranean to the Balearic Islands, and the number of characters isolated on the island has increased from nine to thirteen.
