Netflix to release ‘The Whisper Man’ crime thriller in August 2026

Netflix has announced the release date for the upcoming crime thriller ‘The Whisper Man’, scheduled to stream on August 28, 2026. Directed by James Ashcroft, the film is an adaptation of the novel by Alex North.

The plot follows a widowed crime writer whose life is upended when his eight-year-old son is abducted. He seeks assistance from his estranged father, a retired police detective, leading to the discovery of a connection to a decades-old case involving a serial killer known as ‘The Whisper Man’.

The ensemble cast features Robert De Niro as Detective Inspector Pete Willis, Michelle Monaghan as Detective Amanda Beck, Adam Scott as Tom Kennedy, and Michael Keaton as Frank Carter. The film is produced by AGBO and written by Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer.
