Netflix Korean series ‘School’ cracks top‑10 non‑English hits

The South Korean Netflix series “School” (Korean title 참교육) logged 60.2 million viewing units within eight weeks of its release, earning a place among Netflix’s ten most‑watched non‑English series. It is the fourth Korean title to reach this rank after the three seasons of “Squid Game”. The show topped the global chart for four weeks from its first week and, by its second week, appeared in the top‑10 in 91 countries, maintaining a top‑10 position eight weeks after debut.

Netflix highlighted the achievement as evidence of the worldwide appeal and influence of Korean productions. “School” adapts a popular web comic and follows a fictional “Teaching‑Rights Protection Agency” that violently defends teachers and students against abuse in schools, resonating with audiences worldwide.
