Netflix’s LEGO One Piece special achieves major streaming success

The new Netflix animated special, ‘LEGO One Piece’, has achieved significant streaming success, reaching the No. 5 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 shows with 3.8 million views this week. In Germany, the special climbed to the No. 4 position on the official series charts.

The two-part animated special, consisting of two 30-minute episodes, serves as a promotional event for a new LEGO One Piece collection. Rather than a direct sequel to the live-action series, the episodes use a story-within-a-story format where Usopp narrates the adventures of the Straw Hat crew to the new recruit, Tony Tony Chopper. The content summarizes major events from the first two seasons of the live-action adaptation.

Produced in partnership with The LEGO Group, Shueisha, and Atomic Cartoons, the special features the original live-action cast reprising their roles to voice their LEGO counterparts. The production includes executive producer Eiichiro Oda, alongside showrunner Tom Hyndman and director Chelsea Ker.
