Netherlands aim for 2026 World Cup triumph, says defender Denzel Dumfries

Netherlands right‑back Denzel Dumfries, who plays for Inter Milan, stated that the Dutch national team’s sole objective is to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He highlighted the squad’s improved mental strength and quality compared with the 2022 edition, where they were eliminated in the quarter‑finals on penalties by Argentina.

Dumfries said the loss in Qatar serves as extra motivation for the players. Under coach Ronald Koeman, the Netherlands will compete in Group F alongside Japan, Sweden and Tunisia, and Dumfries believes the team now has the talent and experience to go further than in the previous tournament.
