Netherlands Ambassador to Tunisia received by Foreign Minister

Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, received Dewi van de Weerd, the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Tunisia. During the meeting, the ambassador presented copies of her credentials.

The discussions highlighted the long-standing diplomatic ties between the two nations, which date back to the late 17th century. Both parties expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation across various sectors, including agriculture, water management, the environment, sustainable development, and youth and women's employment programs. There was also a focus on expanding scientific and academic partnerships.

Regarding economic relations, it was noted that 101 companies currently operate in Tunisia through direct or joint investments from the Netherlands, supporting approximately 20,000 jobs. Tunisia expressed interest in attracting further Dutch investment in priority sectors such as renewable energy and environmental technologies.
