Netherlands and Belgium renew strategic partnerships with WHO
The Netherlands has renewed its multiannual contribution to the World Health Organization (WHO), committing €13.34 million for the 2024–2028 period. Additionally, the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport will provide €6 million to support technical partnerships with Dutch WHO collaborating centres. This funding is intended to provide flexible and predictable resources to help the WHO respond to global health challenges, including pandemics and climate change.
In a separate strategic dialogue, Belgium and the WHO reviewed their longstanding partnership. The discussions focused on boosting collaboration regarding universal health coverage, health-systems strengthening, and ensuring equitable access to essential vaccines, medicines, and health technologies. The partners also addressed health emergency prevention, preparedness, and response to strengthen the global health architecture.
