Netherlands car arson incidents spark shock in Tiel and Kaatsheuvel

In the night of Thursday‑Friday, three parked cars were set on fire within half an hour in the Dutch town of Tiel, at the Kleine Plantage and Priorlaan streets. Residents reported hearing loud bangs and seeing flames, and the police suspect deliberate arson. The scene was cordoned off and investigations began, with authorities seeking video evidence from nearby homes.

A similar incident occurred in Kaatsheuvel on Dirck Boutsstraat, where a parked vehicle was completely engulfed by fire shortly after midnight. Police again suspect arson and launched an inquiry, while the fire brigade quickly contained the blaze. A second car nearby suffered heat damage despite being moved away in time. Both events are under investigation for possible deliberate ignition.
