Netherlands closes key roads for extensive asphalt repairs in Utrecht and Leiden

The provincial road N234 (Biltseweg) between Soest and Bilthoven will be closed in both directions from 6 June until 4 July for a full resurfacing. Work is carried out in three phases, with detours via the N221, N415 and the A27 and expected delays of up to half an hour. Cyclists can still use the adjacent cycle path, while bus routes are temporarily altered and some stops are suspended.

In Leiden, the Rooseveltstraat will be partially closed from 22 June to 9 July while its asphalt is replaced and paving works are completed around the new De Blei housing project. Traffic is rerouted via the Vijf Meilaan, and the closure will affect access to a fire station and local businesses. Both programmes are subject to weather conditions and may be adjusted accordingly.
