Netherlands closes N231 Bosrand Bridge and N11 for summer maintenance
The province of North Holland is carrying out summer‑ready repairs on the Bosrand Bridge (N231) from 22‑26 June and again on 29‑30 June. The bridge will be closed to all traffic, with emergency services and line buses permitted under traffic control. Cars are rerouted via the Fokkerweg (N232), Waterwolftunnel and Burgemeester Brouwerweg (N201). Cyclists and pedestrians may use the Schipholdraaibrug until 24 June. The bridge will not be operated for ship traffic between 07:00‑18:00, except for a brief midday window.
Rijkswaterstaat is also closing the N11 for weekend works. The road is shut in both directions from Friday 12 June 21:00 to Saturday 13 June 14:00 between exit 10 Alphen‑aan‑den‑Rijn‑Oost and the A12 junction. A second closure runs from Friday 19 June 21:00 to Saturday 20 June 14:00 between the Burgemeester Smeetsweg intersection and the same exit. Official detour routes advise drivers to expect increased traffic on the A4, Persant Snoepweg and surrounding roads.
