Netherlands hosts free summer water activities in Klaaswaal and Leiden
The fire department in Klaaswaal organized a community water spectacle on the evening of 24 June 2026, inviting children, teenagers and families to a playground where participants could enjoy various water games and cooling activities. Attendees were asked to bring swimwear, and the event was promoted as a fun, open‑air gathering for neighbourhood residents.
In Leiden, a free summer program introduced children and youth to water polo during the Zomer Water Weken at Buitenbad De Vliet. The initiative, supported by the National Sports Fund and local sponsors, offered training sessions led by coaches and elite players, targeting youngsters born between 2008 and 2014. Participation was free, with the aim of encouraging movement, teamwork and confidence among young people during the holidays.
