Due to an expected heat wave, several Dutch public venues and municipal services have altered their operating schedules in late June.

The Modelspoor Museum in Sneek will be closed from 24 June to 27 June, reopening on 28 June. At the De Maashorst nature centre, the Water Day programme on 27 June has been moved forward to run from 10:00 to 14:00 to avoid the hottest hours.

Municipal waste collection has been shifted earlier in multiple towns: Waalwijk will pick up refuse from 06:30 on 26 June and 27 June, and Helmond’s Blink service will collect residual waste on 27 June instead of 25 June, with collection trucks starting at 06:30. In Weert, household waste collection on 26 June will be taken before 05:00, and the local waste centre now follows summer opening hours.

Friesland’s province has issued a code‑orange heat warning, shortening opening times for attractions such as AquaZoo Leeuwarden and the Terp Hegebeintum visitor centre, and deploying salt‑spreading trucks to protect new asphalt on roads around Dokkum and other hot‑spot locations.
