Netherlands reports rising inflation and employment agency revenue growth

Economic data from the Netherlands indicates rising costs across various sectors. In the second quarter of 2026, the Dutch employment agency sector saw a 5.8 percent increase in revenue compared to the previous year. Notably, service rates for employment agencies rose by 8.5 percent, the highest increase among all surveyed business service sectors, surpassing accountants and engineering firms.

Simultaneously, national inflation rose to 3.3 percent in August, up from 3.2 percent in July. This increase was driven primarily by higher costs for goods and services purchased abroad, such as travel and accommodation, as well as rising gas prices linked to conflict in the Middle East. While the European measurement method placed inflation at 2.8 percent, the domestic figure reflects the impact of increased spending on foreign holidays and energy.
