Netherlands schedules night closures on A59 and A29 for summer road maintenance
Rijkswaterstaat will carry out night maintenance on two major highways in the Netherlands. From 27 July to 31 July, the A59 between Oss and ’s‑Hertogenbosch will be closed overnight in each direction, with detours via the A2, A50, N279 and regional roads and an estimated extra travel time of 10–15 minutes. The work includes asphalt repair, mowing and upkeep of signs and markings.
Later in August, the Heinenoordtunnel on the A29 will be closed for two nights. The tunnel will be shut from 26 August 22:00 to 27 August 05:00 for traffic heading toward Bergen op Zoom, and from 27 August 22:00 to 28 August 05:00 for traffic toward Rotterdam. Drivers will be rerouted via the A15, A16, A17, A59 and N217, with an expected delay of 15–30 minutes. Rijkswaterstaat advises motorists to check traffic information and plan journeys accordingly.
