Netherlands weather shifts from summer warmth to autumn conditions
The Netherlands is experiencing a transition from late summer warmth to autumn weather. Early October began with temperatures reaching approximately 22 degrees Celsius, which is six degrees above the long-term average.
Recent weather patterns have included significant temperature drops during the night due to a lack of cloud cover. In some areas, such as the Wadden Islands, temperatures fell significantly, with Terschelling recording 4.9 degrees Celsius. Dense fog has also been reported across much of the country, reducing visibility to between 50 and 100 meters in certain locations.
A weather shift is expected later in the week, bringing increased wind, rain showers, and a drop in daytime temperatures to between 15 and 16 degrees Celsius.
