Netherlands World Cup fan venues in Amsterdam and Leiden stay open later for matches

During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Amsterdam cafés in the western districts are permitted to remain open past their usual closing times while the national team plays, as announced by Mayor Femke Halsema. Venues such as Bar Baarsch, ’t Binnepretje, Brel, De Oude Schaeper and Helmers will show the matches on large indoor and outdoor screens and keep serving drinks and snacks, provided no new patrons are admitted after regular hours.

In Leiden, the historic Pesthuis will reopen as the Oranjehuis on 14 June, offering a large-screen viewing area for supporters. The venue has introduced a ticketing system, including premium "Golden Circle" tickets, and will sell special Oranje shirts whose proceeds go to Stichting Het Vergeten Kind. Food stalls, local partners and live entertainment will accompany the matches, starting with the opening game against Japan.
