Netinho de Paula announces tonsil cancer diagnosis and surgery

Brazilian singer and presenter Netinho de Paula has announced a diagnosis of tonsil cancer. The 56-year-old artist revealed the news to the public during a performance in Manaus as part of the Samba 90 Graus project.

Netinho de Paula stated that he decided to speak out after reports regarding his health began circulating in the press. He described the condition as “fraquinho” (weak) and announced that he will suspend his professional commitments for approximately 30 days to undergo surgery.

The singer expressed optimism about his recovery, noting his intention to return to performing, possibly in Manaus, by the end of the year. Following the announcement, he used social media to thank fans for their prayers and support.
