Netinho de Paula cancer diagnosis and surgery

Overview

Brazilian singer and presenter Netinho de Paula has announced a cancer diagnosis that will require medical intervention.

Initial reports indicated the 56-year-old artist was diagnosed with early-stage papillary thyroid carcinoma following the discovery of a nodule. He announced during a performance in Manaus that he would suspend his professional schedule for approximately 30 days to undergo surgery scheduled for October, noting he was “very calm” about the situation.

Subsequent updates from the artist identified the condition as tonsil cancer. Describing the condition as “fraquinho” (weak), Netinho de Paula confirmed he would still take a 30-day hiatus for surgery but expressed optimism regarding his recovery and intention to return to performing by the end of the year.
