Neuquén develops energy hub and training programs for Vaca Muerta

The province of Neuquén is advancing the development of a new energy hub to support the expansion of hydrocarbon infrastructure and liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects. The initiative focuses on the Comarca Petrolera region, specifically Cutral Co and Plaza Huincul, which will host a future gas separation plant designed for the reception, separation, and primary treatment of natural gas.

To meet the anticipated demand for specialized labor, the municipalities of Cutral Co and Plaza Huincul have signed an agreement with the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN). This partnership will provide free training in various civil and industrial trades, including industrial electricity, instrumentation, welding, scaffolding, and piping. The program is a collaborative effort involving the UTN, local municipalities, the provincial government, and the UOCRA to prepare workers for the upcoming industrial construction and operations.
