Neuquén launches telephone pediatric care service

The Neuquén Province Government, through the Integrated Emergency System of Neuquén (SIEN), has launched ‘SIEN, tu pediatra en línea’. This new service provides medical guidance via telephone for children and adolescents aged 0 to 16 across the province.

Operating Monday through Friday from 16:00 to 20:00, the service aims to improve healthcare access, particularly in remote areas where specialized professionals are harder to reach. Residents in Neuquén capital, Zapala, and San Martín de los Andes can call 107 for free assistance, while those in the rest of the province can use the number 299 583 0004.

Upon calling, an operator will conduct an initial assessment and connect the family with a pediatrician if necessary. While consultations begin by phone, they may transition to video calls if the family has internet access. If in-person care is required, the service will provide guidance on necessary steps and referrals.
