Neuquén Prosecutor's Office reviews strategy for land occupation

The Neuquén Prosecutor's Office has defined a strategy regarding the occupation of a six-hectare property located at the intersection of Padre Genco and Fogwill in the capital city. A recent meeting included the private complainant, developers, representatives from the Provincial Institute of Housing and Urbanism (IPVU), and government mediators.

Authorities are currently cross-referencing data to determine how many occupants are registered in the RUPROVI (Provincial Registry of Housing and Habitat). Preliminary findings suggest that many occupants do not qualify for the registry because they previously received state-allocated lots which they subsequently sold or transferred.

While an eviction order signed by Prosecutor Juan Manuel Narváez remains in effect, its execution has been delayed as the government seeks to avoid a major conflict. Currently, police have restricted the entry of food, water, and firewood to the site.
