Nevşehir doctor arrested for allegedly charging undocumented women for medical services

An investigation into an obstetrician at Nevşehir State Hospital has led to the arrest of three individuals. The probe began after an undocumented foreign woman reported that the doctor, identified as Y. S., demanded payment for medical examinations.

Following a six-month technical and physical surveillance operation by the Nevşehir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch, authorities detained nine suspects. Allegations suggest that Y. S. charged undocumented foreign women 2,500 TL for examinations and between 300 and 1,000 TL for services provided to those unable to secure appointments. The investigation also indicates that the doctor performed procedures such as childbirth and genital aesthetic surgeries in exchange for money.

Of those detained, the doctor (Y. S.), a foreign national (C. M.) accused of acting as an intermediary, and another individual (Ö. K.) who reportedly received paid aesthetic surgery, were arrested by judicial authorities. Two other suspects were released under judicial control, while four others were released following their statements to the prosecutor.
