New AED defibrillators installed in Olsztyn and Wieprz

New automated external defibrillators (AED) have been installed in various locations across Poland to improve emergency response times for cardiac arrest.

In Olsztyn, the city administration acquired three modern AED units and necessary rescue equipment, valued at over 17,000 PLN. The purchase was supported by PZU Życie SA through a prevention fund. The devices are located in key administrative buildings, including the City Hall, the Magistrate building, and the Olsztyn Common Services Center. Future plans include training employees on how to use the equipment.

In Wieprz, a new AED has been installed at the Volunteer Fire Department (OSP) station. The device is housed in a monitored capsule that, when opened, automatically triggers an alarm and sends notifications to firefighters' phones. The equipment is intended for life-threatening situations, and authorities have noted that unauthorized opening of the capsule may carry criminal liability.
