New bus line to connect Serre region with Ionian coast
A new regional bus line connecting the Serre region to the Ionian coast is scheduled to begin operations on September 14. The route will run from Serra San Bruno to Gioiosa Marina, providing service to various stops along the coast.
Initiated by former Fabrizia deputy mayor Leonardo Andrea Pasqualino, the project aims to address long-standing infrastructure deficiencies. The service, utilizing a 20-seat vehicle from the Federico company, replaces a connection that had been canceled for over 20 years. The new line is intended to assist students accessing schools on the Ionian coast and workers commuting to the area. It also facilitates access to the Locri hospital and railway stations in Gioiosa Marina, Roccella, and Siderno.
Pasqualino credited the achievement to ongoing efforts since February, including meetings with the regional Department of Transport and support from regional councilor Vito Pitaro and regional assessor Gianluca Gallo. However, Pasqualino noted a lack of cooperation from Fabrizia Mayor Francesco Fazio regarding the initiative.
