New regional bus service in Calabria
Overview
A new regional bus line connecting the Serre region to the Ionian coast is scheduled to begin operations on September 14. The route will run from Serra San Bruno to Gioiosa Marina, providing service to various stops along the coast.
Initiated by former Fabrizia deputy mayor Leonardo Andrea Pasqualino, the project aims to address long-standing infrastructure deficiencies by replacing a connection that had been canceled for over 20 years. The service will utilize a 20-seat vehicle to assist students, workers, and those seeking access to the Locri hospital and railway stations in Gioiosa Marina, Roccella, and Siderno.
Pasqualino credited the achievement to efforts involving the regional Department of Transport and support from regional officials, though he noted a lack of cooperation from Fabrizia Mayor Francesco Fazio regarding the initiative.
