New Delhi issues traffic advisory for BRICS 2026 rehearsals

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for September 1, 2026, due to full-scale motorcade rehearsals for the upcoming BRICS Summit 2026. Traffic restrictions and regulated movements will be in effect between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM along several high-security VVIP routes in New Delhi.

Key affected corridors include Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Mathura Road, and APJ Abdul Kalam Road, among many others. While bus routes may experience diversions, the police noted that Delhi Metro services will continue to operate normally without disruption.

Commuters are urged to plan journeys in advance, allow for extra travel time, and utilize public transport, specifically the Metro, to avoid delays. Emergency and essential service vehicles will be granted priority passage during the rehearsal period.
