New Japanese-inspired ice cream products launch in Malaysia and Japan
New dessert products featuring Japanese-inspired flavors are being launched in Malaysia and Japan.
In Malaysia, Baskin-Robbins has introduced its ‘Japan Summer Series’. The lineup includes matcha ice cream made with green tea powder from the 150-year-old Kyoto-based merchant Kitagawa Hanbeemon Shoten, musk melon, and a ‘Popping Shower’ flavor featuring mint, white chocolate, and popping candy. These flavors are being added to the permanent menu, while limited-time items like waffles and specific dessert combinations are available through November 11.
In Japan, SESOKO TABLE by TAKITA, a soft-serve specialty shop from Okinawa, is releasing two cup ice creams nationwide at Ito-Yokado and York stores starting October 14. The products include ‘Shio Milk’, a rich milk flavor using Okinawan salt and topped with crushed cookies, and ‘Beni-imo Milk’, which features Okinawan purple sweet potato and black sesame. The ‘Shio Milk’ variety boasts a milk fat content of approximately 14.5 percent.
