New Jersey family of three found dead in apparent homicide-suicide

Authorities in Somerset County, New Jersey, are investigating an apparent homicide-suicide involving a family of three found dead in their Montgomery residence on Wild Azalea Lane.

The victims have been identified as David Grodnick, 61; his wife, Lora Grodnick, 62; and their daughter, Sloane Caroline Grodnick, 24. Police discovered the bodies on October 2 after a welfare check. Lora and Sloane were found in separate bedrooms with fatal gunshot wounds to the head, which medical examiners have classified as homicides. David was located in another area of the home with a firearm in his possession; his death has been ruled a suicide.

David Grodnick was a senior vice president and underwriting advisor at Land Services USA, a commercial insurance agency. Investigators from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office and the Montgomery Police Department have stated that this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the local community.
