In Spain, the Violence Against Women Section of the Vigo Court of Instance has seen a record increase in workload following legal reforms. During the first half of 2026, the section recorded 488 criminal proceedings, a 63% increase compared to the previous year. This surge follows the implementation of Law 1/2025, which expanded the jurisdiction of specialized judges to include sexual offenses against women and human trafficking for sexual exploitation, regardless of the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim. Currently, the section is staffed by two magistrates, Pablo de San Mateo Morán and Juan Laborda Rodríguez.

In the Dominican Republic, the Attorney General's Office inaugurated the Integral Attention Unit for Victims of Gender Violence, Domestic Violence, and Sexual Crimes in San José de Ocoa. The facility aims to provide specialized services, including legal guidance, psychological evaluations, and forensic medical assistance. Between January and September 2026, the region recorded 360 complaints, consisting of 222 cases of domestic violence, 71 of gender violence, 53 of sexual crimes, and 14 flagrant crimes. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of prosecutors, forensic doctors, psychologists, lawyers, and social workers.
