New Level discusses AEW championship win and Swerve Strickland partnership

Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed, performing as the tag team New Level, have discussed their recent transition to AEW and their partnership with Swerve Strickland. The trio recently won the AEW World Trios Championships at All In: London.

In an interview on ‘Close Up with Renee Paquette’, the duo reflected on the dynamic of their new alliance. Austin Creed noted the contrast between their hyper-positive personalities and Strickland’s intense, aggressive character. Kofi Kingston praised Strickland’s professional rise within AEW, noting his passion and ability to develop his character after previously lacking opportunities in WWE.

During the discussion, Renee Paquette also noted that the performers do not need to use the term ‘superstar’ within AEW, leading to a lighthearted exchange about using the term ‘professional wrestler’ instead. Creed expressed excitement regarding seeing Kingston experience a new wrestling environment outside of his long tenure with WWE.
