Regional updates: Honduras job growth, Colombian water crisis, and Spanish weather shifts

In Honduras, a new maquiladora plant is set to be established in Choloma, Cortés. The project is expected to generate thousands of jobs, providing economic stimulation for the northern coast and offering employment opportunities for workers previously displaced by plant closures in the sector.

In Colombia, eleven municipalities in Santander, including Málaga, Barichara, and Socorro, are facing a water supply crisis. The shortage is driven by both drought and infrastructure failures in intake structures and conduction lines. Authorities are deploying water tankers to provide minimum supply to affected areas while working on repairs.

In Spain, AEMET has updated the weather forecast for the Jerez de la Frontera region. After a period of high temperatures reaching 38 °C, a shift in wind direction is expected to bring cooler maritime air, lowering nighttime temperatures. However, summer-like conditions are predicted to return toward the weekend.
